Gust of Colours

by:Rachel

gust of colours

Gust of Colours
Pierre Morency

My child, my freshness
Gust of colours
Discovering the world through fancy
Blossoming, parade of joy

My child, with the downy neck
Truthful, almond eyes
Soft, delicate wrists
Bearing a pulse of unseen strength.

This poem is translated from Pierre Morency’s Souffle de Couleurs, which a friend of mine found in a book of French poetry called “Words that Walk in the Night”.
