Animal Sounds & Dancing Dolls
by:Rachel
Music continues to be an exciting part of Aria’s life. Often I’ll ask her if she wants me to put on some music for her and she will usually nod eagerly. One of her gifts for Christmas was a Raggedy Andy doll and she loves to hold him up by his arms and dance around the room with him. She also likes it when I take another doll and we make the dolls dance together. Last Friday we went to a birthday party for an 18 year old in our church and they had dance music along with bright-coloured spinning lights and “smoke”. Aria was tearing up the dance floor, putting the rest of us to shame with her unabashed delight as she showed off all her dance moves.
With all our moving, Aria only has been able to hold on to a few toys, but it never seems to be a problem for more to come into her possession. With the advent of her grandma from Mexico for three weeks, her stuffed animal collection has doubled! Also, if we come across something in one of the many Charity Shops downtown that she really seems to like, I may just get it for her. For example, last Saturday we came across a wee dollie stroller. Aria spent the entire time in the store racing it around and showing her lack of driving skills by running into everyone’s legs. We brought it home and she enjoys pushing around one of her stuffed animals or rag dolls in it… imitating how mama drives her around in her stroller, though hopefully my driving skills far surpass her own!
Aria’s vocabulary continues to expand and she loves it when we say words and ask her to repeat them. Sometimes they sound quite clear, but often we just enjoy the sound of her babble as she pronounces the word the way SHE thinks it sounds. She especially likes looking at books of Noah’s ark and making all the animal sounds—as you can see in these pictures! ![]()

Boy, she is too cute! Every time I read a new article or see the new pictures posted, it brings me such joy! My heart is warmed to hear how well everyone is doing (despite the little case of chicken pox)! We are keeping you all in our prayers as we wait for your fourth family member to be born. Give Aria a big hug and kiss from me. I love you.
God Bless,
Charissa

I love the pics! It’s like looking at a kaleidescope of Aria — sometimes glimpses of Rachel’s expressions (especially the one on the bottom left) or John (middle on the right for sure!). People tell me more often than they did before that Eden looks like both of us. I still don’t see it. When I look at her I see Eden — and she does resemble her daddy (the hair and button nose). But I saw a 1 year old pic of me at home this Christmas and WOW I saw the resemblance in our face shape. Like a little Dawn and Eve – fair and dark. We could’ve been sisters. But I’d rather be mother and daughter — it’s sweeter than anything I’ve ever known. God BLESS you as you enjoy the sweet time…it’s flying isn’t it?

I haven’t been by in ever so long and just popped in and see you’ve had your baby! Precious! I’m so glad she is in your arms. May these days be blessed as you all get used to one another.
