New Phase of Internship!

Our little trip to London also happened to mark the end of the first phase of Internship at CBN (Christian Broadcasting Network) India. I had known that upon our return, I would be doing something different than what I had been doing but what, I didn’t know. So, upon coming back, I was talking to the Operation Blessing staff and we talked about how I could help them out with medical camps and outreaches. Pretty much they said, just go on some of the camps and be there and we would learn from each other. That sounded good, but I wanted to know what I would do with the rest of my time.
Then, I talked to one of the directors of the board about working with the counseling department as that is a passion of mine. They field literally thousands of phone calls every month from callers all over India who are wondering about spiritual things, or wanting prayer or just need someone to talk to. But, it seemed that the best way that I could help there would be to join their daily prayer meetings and to speak at their occasional meetings and share with them. That was cool too, but not something that I could do all day.
After I was done talking with people from these two departments on Friday, I went into my director’s office and told him about the conversations and asked him where he thought I should go. I was surprised when he said, “Neither! I have another job for you.” What he told me caught me by surprise.
“I want you to lead the website team.” I was really excited about that. I was already working with the person who was leading it, but she had said that her heart would always be in the TV side of the house, and she wasn’t really that much into the web stuff. So, she’ll be going back to production and I will be taking her place.
This is an enormous responsibility as tons of people visit the website daily. It is a tool that is used for follow-up from TV shows and one can actually watch the shows from the site. I’ll be managing the content, which includes 17 new articles every week, 15 of which are translated into Hindi, and 1 into Telegu. I will also be working on the design and layout. I won’t bore you with the details, but there are a lot of thoughts that I have had about how to make this website more accessible and a more effective way to actually be the mouth of Jesus to people.
I really believe that it can be an immensely powerful tool to reach people for Jesus, so… it’s really exciting. Plus… I love doing it.
So, That’s it… Please say a prayer that God would bear much fruit in this next endeavor. It is not exactly working face to face with people but, I’m very excited that during this next phase, I will still be able to join the Operation Blessing guys, and still be able to help out in the Counseling center so… it’s really cool.
Ok, hope all of you are doing well. Please feel free to drop a line any time as we do love hearing from you. Blessings,
John Clancy

    Hi John,
Your new “position” sounds exciting! Isn’t God great the way he opens another door as one closes.?
It was great to get you in England, your little family are a real blessing. It is so good to see Beth and Dave’s “kids” all grown up and serving the Lord and choosing Godly partners.
Hope it’s not years before we see you again.
    Aria is adorable.
So glad Rachel and Jessie will be near each other in Paisley, sisters are very important (brothers too although I never had one).
    Blessings to you all,
    Love Aunt Donna
