Easter Reflection

by:John

Well, it’s 9:45 pm and Rachel and I are going to bed early. We just finished a movie, locked up the apartment, and went into the bedroom where the A/C was keeping the room nice and cool, and I was struck with a thought. It wasn’t really a specific idea or phrase that I could simply recount. But, it was just a premonition, a sense, or a feeling of thankfulness that God was watching over me. Have you ever had that happen?
So, I knelt at the side of my bed to pray before I hit the sheets. I just thanked God that He was on the throne. I remembered that today was Easter, the day we remember Christ rising from the dead, and I just thanked God that ‘Christ is seated in heaven right now.’ And, as I was reflecting on this man, who loves me, has watched out for me, who lived for me, died for me, and has proven Himself as faithful to me, a splitting crack of thunder rolled into the cool night air and held it’s powerful note for emphasis. This same Christ, who I know, reigns over the thunder! And, He reigns over the lightning, and the mountains, and the sun, the moon, the stars, the ocean, and the whole earth. And, though the nations may rage against Him now, and though people may deny Him the glory of being the Son of God, every eye will see, and every knee will bow. This is Christ: my Friend, my Lord, my Brother, and my God.
So, I was overwhelmed with thankfulness. I just felt His grace. I felt that He knows that I am a weak individual, and that He has not left me alone. So, I just wanted to share this with whoever will read it. I pray that God allows for you, in your spirit to experience the same revelation that I did in my spirit. Maybe the words of this page will not do that, but, He’s certainly able to do it any way He wants. Just ask Him to.
God is faithful.
