Day-to-Day Fruitfulness

by:John

When I first arrived at CBN India, I must admit, that I felt a little confused about where I fit in. It is a large company, as well as a ministry and as I was struggling a little bit to know where I should be on the day-to-day, and what I should be doing, I had to turn to prayer. I really wanted, and want to see fruitfulness in my life. I do not want to get distracted from the realities of God’s existence, His love for mankind, Jesus’ great sacrifice, and the promised return of Christ that will mark the great judgment of the world.
Those are really big issues, but somehow the minute details of life manage to puff themselves up enough to shadow the importance of those truths, and we live life business-as ussual. Oh, God don’t let me get distracted with the day-to-day stuff, so that my fruitfulness is stolen! This has been my prayer.
So, I’ve been thinking alot about these things, and realizing that this kind of distraction is really a common trick that the devil uses to knock believers out of the race. Not only that, but the only way to prevent this from happening is by holding on to the hand of Jesus with all that you have. So, I’ve been praying at work and at home. There are times at work, when I find myself just longing to get away and pray or intercede for what goes on around me. I pray for fruitfulness and for individuals and for whatever, and I know that God is both listening and encouraging me to keep going. Then, sometimes I have had opportunities to speak out His Word as well.
Last Wed, I had a chance to preach to the crew at CBN in the daily chapel. I tell you, I felt compelled to speak. The words came from a place deeper than my heart and I really believe that the Lord answered the prayer that I prayed for His Spirit within me to connect to the Spirit within all there. Afterwards, many spoke to me and let me know how much they were touched. I know they meant it too, because, after I preached a message about my testimony, no one really said anything afterwards–but honestly, I don’t think that the testimony message was really annointed. But, the Spirit of God was definitely speaking through me for this message. It’s sweet, God really wants to use me here, and I really want to be used. He is using my frail self to speak to encourage His bride here. I love it! It’s His way!
Anyway, please continue to pray for me. I want His will and to remain true to Jesus. It’s just so easy to get distracted and it’s truly only by His grace that any of us can remain in Him. That grace is sufficient enough for my weaknesses though. I know it! I am a weak person– I’ll be the first to tell you. And, if God can use me, despite how easily distracted I can be, I’m sure that He can use you! Trust me! And, when He does, you know that He’s including you in His plans and it’s a wonderful truth to behold. Hallelujah! Praise the Almighty, everlasting Father.
