“Look at things as though you were seeing them either for the first time or the last time. Then your time on Earth will be filled with glory.” ~Betty Smith

Date: April 2002
Location: Uncommon Grounds coffeeshop in Minneapolis, MN

A friend and I went to a coffeeshop to talk and draw and the following charcoal sketch transpired while I sipped a white chocolate mocha. The hand is my own, touching a tree. I thought, “The simplest things that God has made are so often overlooked. But if I really stop, take a deep breath, and become aware, I can only stand back and be overwhelmed with wonder.”
