Yes, we’re going on Internship!
by:John
One week left till I graduate from Bethany (pending my internship), and I’ll tell you, I’m feeling the crunch. Of course, it’s not just the fact that I’m graduating, or the fact that we’re getting ready to move across the country back to Syracuse for a month. Those things definitely do contribute to the busy-ness but, the really exciting news is in what we are doing in January. That… is Hyderabad, India.
Yes, we are still planning to go to Hyderabad. And, I just want to explain about the process that we have gone through in making our decision to go. If you haven’t read about our internship plans, check out this post.
There are several things that make not going appealing. For one, Rachel’s permanent residency was denied and coming back into the country (for her) could be hindered. Another difficulty is finances. Due to a number of circumstances, we couldn’t start sharing our vision to go until now and we’re supposed to leave in Jan! Another reason not to go is the heat (sometimes up to 115 F). Yet, with all of these things, the reasons to go are so much more!
The reason we are going is because this is what we believe God wants us to do. I believe that God is able to speak to us. In fact, the Bible says in the book of Jeremiah, that when we seek God with all of our hearts, we will find Him. Also, Jesus said that His sheep will hear, and know His voice. Well, we are His sheep and He is able to speak to us. It doesn’t mean that we always get it right! But, we am earnestly seeking Him and His will for our lives, and I believe that He is showing His will to us. That is the reason why we are going. And, really, if God does love us, which I know He does, then whatever He wants us to do, is bound to be the best thing for us. It doesn’t mean that it’s going to be easy but, we believe that it will be the best.
So, that is the major reason why we are going. We feel that God did use the immigration situation to help us in our decision, in that Rachel no longer has a legal status in the country. We are writing some letters and trying to get this situation reslolved however, if we did want to stay in the country, we would be illegal. We don’t feel that this would be right for us to do. We can work on this from India as well, and, if need be, get a permanent residence outside of the country for a while. We do not know the details of how this will work out but, we’re trusting in Him for this.
Anyway, we will talk more later. Please let me know if you have any questions. Peace!
John Clancy
P.S. I cut off all my hair and shaved my beard. I look pretty silly right now- I’ll get some new pics up soon.

yeah, hey I got a question… I noticed the “choose your language” option on the photo section of the website. Is that only for that area or can you do it with the rest. Nevertheless, it is pretty cool and I would like to find out if Gaby can read your guys’ testimony and what not in espagnol with ease. Drop me a line if you have any secrets. Love you.

P.S. sorry to hear about the immigration difficulties. When we fall it helps us learn to get up. God Bless.

ok yeah so I’m going to be response one AND number two! I will go to Zimbabwe to visit you guys, but it definetly would be cool if you could work it out to come back to North America. Try hard to do that before your out date. Excited to see you both and Aria for Xmas. Ok I’d better go… let someone else be response #3.
