Where are we going?

by:Rachel

So… internship. I confess I haven’t spent a whole lot of time thinking on the subject. I have the excuse of a new baby occupying much of my time and thoughts. But even as I consider health concerns, clothing, and vaccinations, they are also tied in to what is coming next in our lives. We have been wanting to go on John’s overseas internship after he finishes classes in December, but are wondering what it will look like… and where we will go.
Both of us desire to work with travellers… young people seeking

truth in all the wrong places— one of these being eastern religion. These young people have about as many roots as a dandelion seed, floating carefree in the breeze. Many of them travel to India or other places in Europe and Asia seeking the fulfillment they haven’t found in our Western culture. Unbeknownst to them, they won’t find it in the Eastern religions either… they may think they’ve found it, but sadly they are only led deeper into deception. These people return to America as types of gurus for the time they’ve spent in the East, and they then spread the deceptive poison among the “kids” in America who esteem them for their “wisdom”. We want to reach these travellers so that, instead of attaining false wisdom, they fall hard for the truth of the love of Jesus.
So right now, John and I are pursuing the path God has set before us, whether that be picking up our family and spending some time in Europe or Asia, or holding off for a while. Please pray for us as we ask God’s guidance in our decisions.
